It’s necessary to know which way your door is handed for levers that are not field reversable. Usually dummy levers and other hardware that requires only 1 lever (like electronic key pads, and handleset interiors).

If you purchase a lock that requires handing you will be required to indicate Left or Right handing before you put the item in your cart.

When you are determining the handing of your door remember the lever always points to the hinges.

To determine handing, stand outside the room you are entering. If you are handing your entry door stand outside. If you are handing a door to a room, stand outside that room. The side of the door that the hinges are on (right or left) is the handing for that door

It is possible to control many electronic devices via your iPhone and the Schlage LiNK free iPhone APP.

If you don’t already own a Schlage LiNK system, you need to buy the LiNK starter kit. This comes with everything you need to get set up and turning your lights on and off to your hearts content.

To control an electrical device you plug the link light module into an outlet, and then plug your device into that. From there you give it a name in the iPhone APP and you have complete control.

The LiNK system also allows you to see and monitor your thermostat temp remotely with the Z-Wave LiNK Thermostat.

Perhaps the most interesting and entertaining feature is the wireless camera. You can point these anywhere, I have one pointed at the front door and one looking out into my back yard. Now from anywhere at anytime I can see who/what is at my front door and what is going on in the back yard. A good example is the other day I was out of town and expecting an expensive package from UPS. I checked my front door LiNK camera and saw it had arrived so I called my neighbor and asked him to take it inside for me.

In addition to the cool remote control features, the LiNK system at heart is an electronic keypad door entry lock, which means my kids will not get locked out when they loose there key (and the spare under the rock!)
